Welcome to Highover's Governors' page

I’m delighted to welcome you to the governors’ page of Highover School.  Thanks for taking the time to visit us online and learn more about our role in supporting the school's mission and vision.

The governors at Highover play a crucial part in ensuring the school continues to provide a safe, nurturing, and exceptional learning environment for our students. Our dedicated team is composed of parents, staff, and members of the community who are committed to the success and well-being of every child at our school.

We do not get involved in the day-to-day running of the school – instead, our aim is to ensure the clarity of the school’s vision, ethos and strategic direction. We support and challenge the head teacher over the educational performance of the school and its pupils and oversee Highover’s financial performance, making sure its money is well spent.

We work collaboratively with the school leadership, staff, parents, and the local community to promote high educational standards and positive outcomes for all our students. We believe in transparency and accountability, and this page serves as a window into our work, responsibilities, and the values that guide us.

Here, you will find information about our roles and responsibilities, as well as updates on the various committees and initiatives we are involved in.

I have been a governor at Highover since January 2018 and have had 2 children move through the school, my youngest is currently in year 5. The past few years have been a rewarding and sometimes challenging experience especially supporting the school through the COVID pandemic. But I am now proud to chair an exceptional governing body with a wide range of experience.

Our commitment to the school's improvement and success is unwavering, and we are excited about the future of Highover. Together with our dedicated staff, parents, and the wider community, we are building a bright and promising future for our young learners.

Thank you for visiting our governors' page.
